Weddings

The Cake is iced, the reception is arranged, the cars are booked........….and the music?

Think of those first few important moments of your reception when the guests will be arriving and sitting down together for the first time. A pleasant relaxed atmosphere will be vital. To ensure a perfect start to your wedding, welcome your guests with the sound of the PHOENIX STRING QUARTET.

We normally play for the Drinks Reception and for the Wedding Breakfast (usually until the speeches start), and can play for the Ceremony as well, if required.

The PHOENIX QUARTET has developed a very wide repertoire, and will be pleased to tailor a programme of music for you on your WEDDING DAY.

Let us help make your occasion truly memorable. Indeed, as the poet Shelley so perceptively observed,
"Music, when soft voices die, vibrates in the memory".

Wedding Ceremony

The Phoenix Quartet are extremely experienced at providing music for both church weddings and civil ceremonies, as well as background music during the drinks reception and wedding breakfast.

We usually play fifteen minutes before the wedding ceremony, as the guests are taking their seats. Sometimes we play a bit longer, if the Bride is late! We then accompany the Bride’s entrance with a suitable piece, such as Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, Pachelbel’s Canon or a piece of your choice.

Normally, we also play during the signing of the register. Finally, for the outgoing procession of the Bride and Groom, we play something suitably jubilant, such as Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba or Handel’s Music to the Royal Fireworks.

Additionally, if you wish, we could of course provide a musical interlude elsewhere in the ceremony, accompanying a singer perhaps.

The Reception

We normally play as the guests arrive at the reception for their drinks. Depending on the venue and weather, we often play outside. We even have our own Gazebo!

We then usually play during the Wedding Breakfast until the onset of the speeches.

The quartet has various options regarding dress.
